Mike has more than twenty years of experience advising elected and appointed municipal officials, as well as individuals and small business owners that have a variety of projects with, or are subject to, local governmental regulation. Municipal law involves unique rules and considerations that are not present in the private sector. Mike enjoys helping clients understand municipal procedures as well as creating and implementing strategies for successful development for both municipal and private sector clients. In addition, Mike advises small business owners and individuals on a wide range of business and real estate matters. Mike believes that it is important to provide clear and concise legal advice to clients who are confronted with complex legal and political issues. Mike stresses communication as well as client input and involvement as critical to the effective representation of his clients.

- Negotiated and prepared the development agreement and related local governmental approvals required for the construction and operation of a $150 million peaker power plant
- Provided counsel to local units of government that have land use and regulatory jurisdiction over the 2004 PGA Golf Championship and the 2007 USGA Senior Open Championship
- Assisted local units of government with the acquisition, financing, development, and sale of land for business park purposes
- Successfully litigated challenges to annexations relying upon both procedural defects as well as the “rule of reason” resulting in the return of significant properties to Town jurisdiction
- Assisted a local unit of government with developer negotiations to construct a $30 million 350 unit multi-family residential development
